Social Media – What is it and how can it help you?

Social Media (Social Marketing, Viral Marketing, etc.) is new to some and an every day necessity to others. Where do you fall between the two extremes? No matter what your level of comfort or experience is with it, Social Media can do many things for you both personally and professionally.

We have come across many different websites, dedicated to Social Media, but the one we would like to focus on today is Mashable. They describe themselves simply as “The Social Media Guide”, which I think pretty much explains it all. No, you don’t think so? Well, take a visit to their site and look around..what do you see? I think they have put together one of the most well-rounded sites with content, links and information that you could ask for. It’s not overly flashy, has some ads, but when you get right down to it, the site just oozes with info and content, that you can’t help but click through at least a couple of their posts to see what’s new in the digital world.

Are there other sites that do the very same thing? Absolutely! But Mashable has found a way to become one of the most respected authorities in the Digital/Social Media world. It’s one thing to post a blog, and it’s another to actually bring traffic to. So like I said, I have now made a point of checking in on Mashable at least once a day, sometimes more, and have learned some things I wouldn’t have, if I hadn’t.

Have a site that you think is better? Let us know about it and we’ll take a look and maybe write something about you!
